American Idol

So, I hate to admit this but I'm hooked on this seasons American Idol.  This is the first season that I've actually watched more then the audition rounds....which are truly hysterical, i mean, people really.... how can some of you think you can sing?   And even sadder is that your friends and family tell you can....  so sad....

I digress though, I do consider myself somewhat knowledgeable in the music realm and listen to all types of music... rock, punk, bluegrass, country, pop, funk, jazz...etc...  and there are two contestants on this years show that are really just so great to watch... The first is Allison who for a 16 year old has just an amazing set of pipes and can just flat out sing.  My other favorite is Adam Lambert, who IMHO is light years ahead of every other contestant...  he's the only contestant to actually get me to put my laptop down and focus on his entire performance...   watching and listening to him do Tracks of My Tears on last weeks show.....we'll it just gave me chills, it's worth the few minutes to watch if you haven't already seen it, he's damn good.

Joe the Plumber

So, sitting here watching Bill Mahr, and he has Joe the Plumber on....   how is this guy still having his 5 minutes of fame?  What is wrong with America when this moron gets a book deal, becomes a paid speaker... and makes the rounds on TV shows and gets paid for all of this????    Are you kidding me?  it's amazing to me how much people in this country cater to the lowest common denominator...  unreal....

The joy of cycling

so, today i motivated to get a bike ride in after work...   and i have to say getting on my Look 586 and climbing the local hills in south Orange County truly is one of the great pleasures in my life.   The feeling of conquering a huge hill and working up a sweat that puts the day's pressures and stresses behind me is something that I treasure.   There is just something to be said for being able to hop on a bike for an hour, see the sunset over the pacific, and put the days troubles behind you.....  and hitting 45 coming down Pacific Island Drive isn't bad either :)

The Human Population

why is it that some people just don't understand ...   are people really that slow and dim witted?   it just amazes me how many people exist that take no responsibility for their actions... do not hold them selves accountable or just take no ownership of anything in their lives.....   my challenge on a daily basis is how to not let these people get to me and bring me down.   doesn't every one realize that they should just be like me....really, what's the hold up people???

Ready for a new poocher

i think it's time for another doggie... life is just not the same to come home and not have a little wagging tail there to greet you.
